Let me help you clear out the wood shed,
Clear it out so you can close the door,
Turn it out and turn into a good shed
From which to look and love what you adore.

I cannot know the nastiness which nests there,
The viper’s brood which hatched there long ago,
The paralysing palsies, plagues and pests there,
The terrors it’s unthinkable to show.

Yet I know well the sickness which despises
Self, control, control of self alike,
Disease which dare not speak, nor analyses
The need either to pacify or strike,

And I know too of horrors in the wood shed,
And you can clean them out and, by and by,
In cleaning out, you’ll find it is a good shed,
And I would help, if you would help me try.
